Client domain continuity for web agencies

A practical client-domain continuity workflow for web agencies: ownership, renewal decisions, approvals, and handoff evidence.

By OpsBlip editorial team · Reviewed July 15, 2026 · Quarterly and before public release review

The outcome

Web agencies inherit responsibility across domains, DNS, hosting, and client relationships. The useful operating record is not a larger list of dates: it names the next decision-maker and preserves what the client approved.

Workflow

  1. 1.Create one record per client domain and separate legal registrant, agency operator, and renewal decision owner.
  2. 2.Record the renewal window, decision due date, and evidence needed before a client is asked to decide.
  3. 3.Send a client-facing decision request that states the choice, deadline, cost context, and consequence of no response.
  4. 4.Issue a scoped handoff when the relationship changes; retain the issued version and the client response.

Agency domain record — minimum fields

Adapt this to the client’s actual authority and records; do not put passwords, tokens, recovery codes, or private keys in it.

Registrar account owner: Client / agency / unknown
